Poem -

Left Behind

It was the sparkle in your eye.Β
And the laughter in your smile.Β
That captured first my loving heart.Β
Your black eyes cut through the air.Β
As if seeking the lost or unknown.Β
To find kindred soul for loves start.Β

Passions temping you to explore.Β
Fear not your enemy, but friend.Β
night born out of time and place.Β
But I clung timid to my safe retreat.Β
Til urged by you to reach beyond.Β
Finding courage hiding neath grace.Β

Over mountain tops and deserts.Β
We walked and played in passion.Β
As fire raged within to spur us on.Β
Then God jealoused by your claim.Β
Swept you through gates on high.Β
As night was lost to morning's sun.Β

In those dawning rays, darkness fell.Β
Spoken words were muted by a roar.Β
Reason for new life so hard to find.Β
Life of adventure haunting dreams.Β
With yearnings for thrills of memoryΒ
Remind now of passions left behind .Β
