Leftovers

Crazed turmoil
Aluminium foil
9-5
Preheated spoils
Slogging and slogans
Brainless multifigured motion
A product of lawless devotion.
And in the background
Shirtless firefighter charity calendars
Posters of far-off travellers
To give us âMotivationâ
Well, it doesnât give me elation!
Just a faulty paycheck
Most spent
On survival intent
Like food
And bills
And cable
And shoes
And beers
And fines
And savings
To clear my mind
Slave slave
Go away.
Come back with more.
Give up those days.
Slave slave
Run, escape
Especially when
You hold the lock
And the voice
And the key...
With endless chains.
The Fish of the Sea.

Oh I liked this one Max, great ideas. We are all holding the keys to the lock. Love and light always â¤â
Awww thanks so much Shelley! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. So very true, we know how escape, it's our own decisions that keep us chained. It means so much for you to comment. Kind regards. Your friend MaxÂ
Thought provoking, we are stuck in a loop of the life the authorities force us to live. It's what you do outside that loop that makes us human
:)
So true! Your comment is nearly better than my poem. Thank you!
this made me smile!!..thank you... ive been off here for a couple of years as I haven't been writing much. I forget sometimes, it's when you read other people's work it can inspire your own words
:)Â
Well, welcome back! I look forward to reading more of your work!
Super pionient.Â
Aww thanks so much, Liliana! I`m glad you enjoyed it.
There's so many ideas and themes you put in this poem Max.
it's great to see and great to read the thoughts of other poets and your concluding lines are sublime to read and the imagery drawn from them.
Top marks and pinned for a reread and enjoy again.
Hang in there Max and will read more tomorrow and Monday too and looking forward to it my friend.
Shaun.

Awww thanks Shaun! Usually I start with a mess of thoughts, the hardest part is untangling them all! Really glad you liked them though, hard to get stuff down on paper sometimes. Peace and smiles. Your friend MaxÂ
