Poem -

Leninency

Are innocent the eyes of the uninvolved
as the hands of the uncaring
tighten around my throat!

Are lenient the laws to untangle this web?

I lie breathless wondering not;
as it is too late to wonder.

Ten years pays no debt to me,
but only to one's eagerness not to crowd
the so involved society of refuge from
the innocent.

An eye for an eye falls to injustice
as years pass by, I lie.

One's freeness prevails, as I the victim,
lie dormant in inconsiderable content of the way
things should have been?

Will justice ever prevail?
                   I think not............

C Nastu Author Notes: Dedicated to the deaths of those who should still have time, and there families still suffering with the senseless loss of the ones that they will love forever
