Leonardo Again

Leonardo Again

Da Vinci not De Caprio, once more said hello,
I told him that we had a pandemic, 'Oh yes,' he said,
'We had the black death although I prefer green,
I'd rather my time to yours after what you've seen.'

'What are my paintings worth now?
Did my helicopter idea ever get off the ground?
I bet no one else managed to draw a perfect circle,
we didn't have your technology but we were more magical.'

'What did they think of my Last Supper?
Did they notice there were thirteen disciples?
I believe it's in Milan now instead of Rome,
maybe that was best for a suitable home.'

I told him that there were many changes now,
using acrylic instead of oil made his blood boil.

Being Me

Oh that last line is ace!  It is a perfect last line for this poem. I can actually imagine poor Leonardo feeling this way about acrylics 🤣
