"Lessons Hard Taught"

"Lessons Hard Taught"

"I'm becoming slowly,
what I was before.

This addiction decided,
I needed to be more,
unlike who I am,
while the cold sand,
trickled through these shaking hands.

From the hourglass,
I ruptured,
was set apart,
apart from myself,
a being of regret and hate,
on a course,
a dead end,
a time cut oh so short fate,
but now I've settled down,
I'm trying to make right,
with everyone in this town,
for I was on a course,
the addiction struck a match,
I knew I would surely burn,
oh Thank You God I finally learned!"
