Let down at the last minute is a terrible thing 
So much anguish and sadness it will now bring 
When once the answer was yes I'll be there 
The answer now is no and it is so unfair 

You have to be brave but your absence will be felt 
Like the sun on snow the ground will soon melt 
He knows that you didn't ask to be sick and ill 
He just wishes there was a magic pill 

So he has to be strong for the sake of his mum
