Let It Be

Let It Be

What are we to do with the debris?

Leftover pieces from when we shattered who we used to be.

Do we glue them together,

reiterate what isn't true anymore,

force some kind of bondage to bandage

what already needed life to be

mechanically pushed into it?

Or do we leave it,

sprawled on the floor

so sharp that I cut my bare feet on it as I try to walk away

Maybe, for now,

it's better if I just stay.

Bono from U2 says about the woman breaking his heart,  "you are the glass on the beach."  Nice piece.  Congrats on the nomination!
