It Had Her

It Had Her

You were not a woman with a disease

You were a disease that the woman fed

You were the cracking of her brittle back

You were the voices inside her head.

You were the pills taken with wine

You were the twisting of her spine

You were the “I love you from a distance”

You were the “I didn't think you'd miss this”

You were the need to hide away

You were the one begging us not to stay

You are a tumor on my mind

And a warm embrace of my heart

I wish you never did these evils to her

You made the woman fall apart.
