LET ME NOT SEE

CLOSE MY EYES
Sometimes I have to close my eyes

Because I don't want to see

What can I possibly do

But search for Your peace and beauty

I run through fields of flowers

Where I feel Your Presence near

No longer burdened by troubles

Your hand wiped away my tears

Running through peaceful streams

My heart is light, carefree

I laughed, splashed and danced with You

And for a moment, it was okay to be me

Where it's safe to have your own opinion

No one's threatened if you speak your mind

I just want to go back To You

Where it's love and tolerance I find

But it seems that I must go back

To reality such as it is

I cannot do anything about it

But the plan and the will is His

But I can still close My eyes

When it gets too painful to see

I can run through fields of flowers

And learn to let things be

Knowing, even though I'm not looking

In Your Spirit I am free

And when it's too painful

You're always reassuring me
