Let's Have Something Nice Today
Like cheesecake so they say, we went to 'Secret Recipe,'
which was not far from heaven it really seemed to me;
then we made love like layered cake, as much to take,
all those fancy shapes, see the tv prog - ' Great British Bake.'
Like sunshine in your hair, asked what it meant, 'soul laid bare,'
it meant we gave everything - finally proved we really care;
how deep is your love, Barry wrote on a nice sunny day,
I touched your eyebrows - so beautiful so they all say.
We went to the beach, better than yours my dear friend,
got to have white coral sand, none of that shingle sand;
wriggle in the toes, you know, mind wanders as it goes,
we imagine, untouchable, strangely justified pecadilloes.
Perhaps settle for that New York cheesecake mon ami,
it's simple, unproblematic, don't decry sweet mystery.

This poem feels like a lot of bright, sweet, warm sunshine. Reading it was the perfect antidote for a "meh" sort of day x

You are very welcome. Only wish I was on a beach of white sand and turquoise sea right now x
