letter to a friend

letter to a friend

I messed up and compromised our friendship

And you don’t deserve that kind of treatment

I was acting like a fool being so inconsiderate

I must be on your last nerve now? And I deserve it

But can you forgive me?  Can you just do it?

Yeah you’re right, how can you ever trust me?

You should really run and hide, for your own safety

I’m really selfish egotistical and have no credibility

You’re not dumb you can see my game, you’re pretty savvy

But can you forgive me? Can you just do it?

Once bitten twice shy a really good adage to live by

And I must’ve bitten you about a hundred thousand times

I can’t make you any promises without telling you a lie

I trip and I stumble and fall I’m not at all a perfect guy

But can you forgive me?  Can you just do it?

So here’s all my cards, one by one I put them on the table

Words are all I have I got nothing on paper to show you

Theorize, analyze sermonize take your time in deliberation

I fall at your feet waiting for an answer to a simple question

Can you forgive me?  Can you just do it?
