Letter To The Unborn

The hurt in my heart, the pain runs so deep
Thoughts of you, I can no longer sleep
What did I do to the one that I love
Sent prematurely to the heavens above

I chose another rather than go with my heart
Now I am alone, condemned to the dark
God please forgive me for what I have done
All these hurt emotions, I wish I had none

Your daddy has left me, in the darkness that I lay
I wish I could hold you, every hour of every day
The choice I made will haunt me till my very last breath
Departed from my life early but reunited in death

Resisting the urge to join you with the strongest of wills
As I clutch a glass of wine and a bottle full of pills
The tears blur my vision, I can no longer see
But mummy does love you and together we must be

Don’t be sad for me my angel, I’ll see you soon
Join you amongst the stars, the sun and the moon
Please forgive me baby for the decision I chose
