Letting Go and Moving On

Letting Go and Moving On

“We suffer more in imagination than in reality”
~ Seneca

Sometimes I feel I’d like to let go
Of all my pain
And all my sorrow
It’s a feeling resulting from external events
And what people have said and done:
The trauma replays.

Yet…is it all in the mind?
Is letting go so hard to do?
Perhaps, instead of resisting pain
We should embrace it

Cry if necessary, experience it,
Let negative feelings dissipate.
The past can’t be changed
It can only be overcome.

Tomorrow is another day.
