Poem -

Leviathan

Leviathan

I feel so speechless when you come around,Ā

My lungs seem unable to even muster a sound,Ā

Even though we’ve been together so long in spirit,Ā

I rarely know what’s on your mind,Ā

My instability can be crippling,Ā

But your kind vibe defies the downsides,Ā

You’ve held my head up yet,

I’m still drowning on the cold concrete,Ā

Ruby red dress that was once cobalt,Ā

Stained by loves unyielding deceit,

Im wading the open waters,Ā

Drifting along our rough waves sinking beneath,Ā

Crashing currents weigh heavily,

upon these poor souls born of the merciless sea,Ā

Freedom cost me everything starting with my sanity,Ā

Washing away what use to be,Ā

You picked my lock but kept the key.Ā

Thanks TFOTS! I’ve had this poem written for a while but didn’t know how I wanted it to turn out so I just kinda winged it lol. I’m glad you enjoyed it and I hope you continue to read. 😁

You picked my lock but kept the key.

This sentence looks simple but quite powerful to me. Well composed.

No problem I’m glad my poetry actually helps you! Ironically I have to re read my own work to get a sense of how far I’ve come and the many changes I’ve make both in my work and in life. I hope you have a happy holiday and enjoy the family time!Ā
