Reincarnation through words

Never forgotten

Reincarnation through words

Her death could have been pointless .
That late in a lost war .
Thank you twist of fate
Her diary rescued from a room's floor .

She could have remained forever unknown
Name lost among the statistical death tolls .
Her words ensure she lives on .
How tragic she dodged the gas chamber

- But died of illness in another hellhole .

Sad tragic poem. Is it about war?
Excellent narrative in such a small piece. You definitely do short very well!! Px

Good afternoon and sorry to take so long to reply Pratibha ! This poem is based on Anne Frank , A Dutch/German young girl of Jewish descent who tragically died right at the end of WW2 but thankfully for the world , left behind a diary telling us of her life and an insight into history from such a personal viewpoint . I was trying to do an 'if only' . If her diary hadn't been rescued she may have just been another unknown statistic of the greatest crime of the 20th Century .Ā
Thank you for your kind words , I hope you continue to enjoy my poetry and keep your stunning work up too ! Cx
