The Lie

In a world of pain and sorrow,
We found each other.
One day melding into another,
Time elapsed...
Months seeming like days...
And in my mind's eye,
There you are;
Charming smile as always---
For me and only me.
A lie..........
Only a façade,
A beautiful beguiling lie.

What a mistake my poor soul has made.
And the new smile that had been born in my heart,
Now has to choice,
But to depart.

Gone forever.
Never to be seen again.
My tear-stained soul bleeds anew.
We should have never trusted you.

Me, alone...
That's all I'll ever have.
Me......and my unending pain.
