LIEN

LIEN

This is a true tale of sadness and danger
A eight year old girl was left in the hands of a stranger
The location was the Hague and the year 1942
Lien was the girl who happened to be a Jew

The strangers cared for Lien so very well
Being a Jew at this time must have been hell
Lien is now eighty four and survived the war
Imagine not seeing your parents anymore

The horrific stories Lien still remembers to this day
The poem written by her father before being taken away
So much heartache and so many tears
Made Lien's life so difficult throughout the years
