Life Began

Today is the day of birth
Another year has came to past.Â
A day to reflect upon our worth
Shew, a year can go by so fast.Â
A single day that accounts for a year
Where we look back at all we’ve cast.Â
Recalling each smile and each tear
Hopeful these birthday’s continues to last.Â
Another year older, so it seems
Occurs this very day each year.Â
Broken promises and forgotten dreamsÂ
Remains either far or near.Â
As we push on in ageÂ
And our bodies starts to fail
Looking back on our youthful rage
And the way we grabbed life by the tail.Â
Now, as we approach old and wiseÂ
We think before we leap.Â
For this next move could be our demise
Or maybe allow us someday to laugh or weep.Â
Youth truly is waisted on the young
Weak in the mind
Yet so headstrong Â
Days and years can become unkind.Â
But to have the energy of our youth
And the wisdoms of our age.Â
Would mean we knew the truthÂ
Before walking out on life’s stage.Â
As you slip off into slumber
Smile as you realize your life
Where our age is but a numberÂ
And strength is gained from each strife.Â
Enjoy as many as you can
Try an live life in a better way
For us, life beganÂ
Upon this very day

If I’m being honest..and thank you by way, no lyrical I’ve written has taken over 10 minutes to construct and proof...
I literally see post or news cast and A complete stanza will whirlwind around in my mind till I place it on paper....
if I asked you to name any criteria for a poem I could write for you in mere minutes.”a gift of mine that hasn’t gotten its due time....”
