Life in a Second
Life is short and that is sad,
Yet there is so much to experience that it really is worth that single second.
So much you could do in what seems like a second of life in the bigger scales.
We have sadness and happiness and a balance in between.
We read a book and time flies before us and soon we find ourselves close to death.
With death at the door,
We open it and travel with it to the void of nothing.
This is life in a second.
Life is complicated,
Sometimes too complicated for for the human mind to do what’s right.
There is so much fighting and arrogance that people ruin life for themselves.
Not only that, but they ruin it for others too.
So much anger and sadness in this world changes it to something darker.
Life is not complete without sadness and destruction.
For life is never perfect. (Yet why do I want that more than anything ever created?)
This is life in a second.
Life is something that is breathing,
But to me, it is different.
It is more than just breathing,
For it is living which means it is happy and sad,
A perfect combination that is described as bittersweet.
Yes, that’s right,
Life is bittersweet.
This is life in a second.
Life is happy and sweet,
We can be happy in life as well.
Yet happiness is different to everyone,
Some are greedy,
Wanting only money.
Others are kind, wanting world peace.
I just want knowledge.
This is life in a second.
Life is busy and always buzzing with new.
There is so much to do,
Yet, so little time to do.
So little time to ponder the questions life never gave answers to.
I wish I knew what death would be,
It might prepare me for what will be bound to happen.
I want to know everything but in such short time I am afraid it is impossible.
This is life in a second.
Life is full of wishes and curiosities of the choice.
So many beliefs in the world,
So many theories of life.
I wonder which ones will lead to death,
And which ones will lead to eternal happy (until the day you die, of course).
I wish the answers were more clear, What did we ever do to life,
For it to give such a living?
This is life in a second.
Life is full of mysteries,
Many of which I cannot solve.
I do not care, my brain likes thinking so that is what I will do.
Ever feel like you could just turn back time and have the happiest moments again?
I sure wish I could, I miss my kid life.
I regret not cherishing at the time,
I think I’ll cherish is from now on.
This is life in a second.
Life can end in so many choices but mainly there is two.
There is the choice to be good in the eyes of the public,
Or the chance to be the real good, one good that is good until the very end.
How you decide will not matter.
The choices do though, they decide whether you life is good or good in your own way.
In other words, they determine your ending.
Your choice.
This is life in a second.
Life is full of different,I sure hope it is a good different.
I have just one wish but I don’t think it can be given.
I cannot get it on Christmas, not even on my birthday.
On each passing year, my knowledge will grow,
Yet I don't just want to get better,
I want to be the best.
Hopefully, one day, my brain will hear me out and learn more than ever every year.
This is life in a second, full of hopes and dreams for the future.

To all of those who read this. This was my first poem. I know I have sent out other ones but this was the one poem where I just wrote and decided it was fun and started writing poems. This is why my other poems are probably better. I was still exploring styles and so it you don't like this one, please don't hate my others! I wasn't even going to put this in but I decided this was really important to me because it inspired me to write more.Â
Alright, cunning is takin' a break!
Ps. I write at least one poem a week so I'll upload tons!
"Life is short and" what matters is the life's width not length. Good layout with different aspects of life.
Well, I just read it and think you are more on the threshold of learning than I was when I wrote my first poem some 42 years ago:
I sit on a stone
all alone
and weep...
(the rest of the lines are lost to me).
I love this one. Will read up on the rest a.s.a.p., but my lunchbreak at work is over and a client is coming...
Keep going✌
