Poem -

Life is a cruel illusion

Life is a cruel illusion

There is a looming emptinessĀ
in this place of exile in my mind.
In here, the sun is half-hidden behindĀ the dark lashes of pollution andĀ held hostage by even darker clouds.
Silently it writhes - shivering to beĀ free from amorphous chains.Ā
But through the struggle,Ā
tiny pieces of burning energyĀ
break off and drift away for eternity, leaving trails of ash suspendedĀ in the dusty air until the fire burnsĀ less passionately than before andĀ life seems like a cruel illusion.Ā
