Life into my lungs

We both met each other in our freshman year
Of High School and then you cried a tear
Because you were going to a university
That was more than a hundred miles away from me
The pain from saying goodbye really stung
But you gave life to my songs that needed to be sung Â
And always with your mouth and sometimes with your tongue
You were the one who breathed life into my lungs
I graduated from college as you also graduated
Getting married was an idea we both eagerly anticipated
You got a job as a health teacher at a school not too far
Away as I kept failing at attempts of trying to pass the bar (exam)
The pain from not passing that lawyer exam really stung
But you gave life to my songs that needed to be sungÂ
And always with your mouth and sometimes with your tongue
You were the one who breathed life into my lungs
It was in the summer when we finally went to the beach
I clumsily swam out of sight and out of the lifeguard’s reach
And when a jellyfish stung me and I couldn’t breathe anymore
You swam to get me to perform mouth to mouth to me on the shore
The pain from that jellyfish really stung
But you gave life to my songs that needed to be sungÂ
And always with your mouth and sometimes with your tongue
You were the one who breathed life into my lungs
