Lifes a Journey

Life’s a Journey
　
　
The sky’s been full of rain clouds for weeks
It makes the entire landscape seem so bleak
　
Just a few leaves are clinging to the barren trees
Ready to fall with the first cool October breeze
　
Why don’t we get in your car and just drive?
To the end of the road while were still alive
　
Let’s endlessly travel till we again find the sun
We will only rest when the day is finally done
　
Torrential rain is pelting off the roof of your car
Miles of road ahead would never be too far
　
Life’s a journey and we need to roam
Now miles and miles from our home
　
Why don’t we drive fast down the open highway?
Checking out all of the back streets and byways
　
Memories of rivers of tears quickly pass us by
So happy on the road now we don’t want to cry
　
Let’s drive all of the way till we reach a golden land
With palm trees and sunny beaches of sea and sand
　
Taste freedom as the wind blows through our hair
Together on the road like we just don’t care
　
Oh Lord allow us together to live out our dreams
And bring our final destination closer than it seems
　
In the heavenly night sky the stars have begun falling
If you listen close you can hear the open road calling
　
We will drive the open highway till the day is done
Sleep under the stars and rise with the dawning sun
　
Wild horses are forever free to run
The dawning of a new day has just begun
　
I feel so invincible while riding in your car
You know that life can leave a permanent scar
　
Heaven’s above let all of our hopes come true
While travelling under the sky of turquoise blue
