Light Bulb

Light Bulb

The only light comes from a bulb hung high
There's two closed doors, that lock from inside

It's hot and blurry from all the steam
She prayed it all to be a dream
It's crowded and hateful from a forced embrace
She now walks the halls at a faster pace

Stolen innocence lets out its cry
As days go on she wonders why
What makes a person fall that low
What gave him the right to steal my glow

It's sad and scared a secret still kept
Will another man sink down to his depth
How shall she ever learn to trust
Will she find love or just settle for lust

She's hiding and searching
 Scared danger may be lurking
A beautiful treasure was taken away
On a seemingly normal and routine day

She's sitting straight up and keeping it cool
When she met someone she couldn't fool
He boxed her problems away for the year
Taking away  away her terrible fear

Please understand the gift you should cherish
Don't think it won't happen, don't take safety for granted
It can happen as if they'd planed it
