Ignition

Ignition

I would listen through sheetrock
Clenching my fists, in a staring contest  with the clock.
Even long sleeves and dopamine
Couldn't numb the pain each time she'd leave

The ignition starts the fight again after he begs her to stay
Life never  stops
Not even on your worst day
