Like coffee
I want you like coffee,
Hot but smooth.
The taste not diluted with milk
Or sugar.
I want you straight as I can stand you.
Sometimes that means
Not being around you.
Don't want you bitter.
I drink you in
As my eyes take in the horizon.
You're in the morning.
You're a jolt
In my evening.
You're in my hands, a wreath of steam
Rises as I sip of your warmth
Going through the body.
I'm awake
When you make me.

Shaking it up dear Rory, metaphor or not I love this. ☕ Italian, BrazilIan, Columbian, it's all a wake me up! 🌹 Most enjoyed.
That made me smile
A fantastic piece of writing Rory. Last two lines say it all x
