Black Bag

Black Bag

They took you away in a black bag with a zipper
It closed on my entire heart.
Every conversation, every joke, every look that didn’t need words to confirm
They asked me if i wanted to say goodbye
But you were already gone
You cleaned my wounds and you kept me safe
You showed me i wasn’t alone in a world i could never understand
They tell me to be grateful to be last alive
But im so angry i had to watch you all go
I am no survivor, just the last to live
Doing it all on my own is so unfair
You held me when mom got sick and wouldn’t get better
You were there when your only son was killed and i needed comfort
And now with you gone, who do i turn to?
I just wish i was zipped up in the black bag with you.
