We Aren't Really Friends

We Aren't Really Friends

Most men aren’t friends with women they aren’t sexually attracted to
Now I know it’s “not all men”
But it is most
Growing up, I had many brothers, and in turn, most of their friends were guys
So when I got older, most of mine were, too.

When you offer a classmate a piece of gum to try and make friends, you’ll always be the person who once gave them a piece of your gum
When you no longer have gum, you no longer have that friend
When you have the gum but don’t want to share, you no longer have that friend
When the gum is always strawberry flavored, your friend gets tired of it then, you no longer have that friend

Even if you were only my friend for the gum, I still miss you.
