Cupcake

Cupcake

One time, when I was in 4th grade a girl I didn’t know gave me a cupcake on the bus
She didn’t know me, or ask for anything in return
She just offered me a red velvet cupcake and never gave me a second look
She was short, around  five foot two
With long dark hair and some of most accentuated curves
She smelled like lilies, her smile seemed almost broken
It was her only one, and she offered it to me
Then she went to her seat and stayed silent the rest of the ride
I don’t know her name. Nor will I probably ever see her again
But she offered me a cupcake, I’ll never forget
