Linda

Linda

You used to smell of patchouli oil, when you were ill, you let lemons boil

In a pan with 2 cups of water, to ease a flu you told your granddaughter.

You had dread-locked hair and cerulean eyes

You always woke early, 6am sunrise

You loved painting, tulips and evening time

In the garden was a melodic wind-chime

You were the happy hippy that everyone was besotted with

Everyone knew how much love and care you had to give

Words cannot express the way you motivate me

To become a better person, I wish you could see

Because back when you passed, I was just a little girl

Wanting more and more than I ever deserved

You spoilt me rotten and of this I am sure

But you are a woman I will forever adore

You are not lost, as you are still with me

I carry you with me, in my heart, eternally

Dedicated to you, Linda Christine Hill

I have lost you in the real world, but I have you still

(Dedication to my grandmother who was born and passed on 5th February 2008)
