Linear

Linear

I am but the sum of my parts.
Two halves.
One End and One Beginning.

One path, seems pointless these days, Ā
so doomed to be unfulfilling.

Yet many have no choice.

A penny is worth more than a shilling to some.
If ever I do
Come
Undone.

Don’t fault yourself,
I shouldn't have folded on the cards that were dealt.
But for once please notice my lack of fun.

Till then,

I smile
for
the camera:
Won.

Though boilers burst,
one
by one.

I shrug off these shouts.
As I take out into account.
That is what I’m trying to accomplish.

Will never truly
be done.

Not in this lifetime.
And not in the next.

Being Me

Hi Max!Ā  This poem seems a sad one. Hope you are well. I think you are more than the sum of your parts because you forgot the middle bit. The middle bit is important!Ā  Anyway, I love how you crafted your words for this poem x

Hey Tina, thanks for your kind comment. I'll tell you a secret, I come back here when I'm at my lowest, so yeah, last port of call I guess! Don't worry, poetry seems to take out 80% of it and sometimes, comments like yours take out the other 20%.Ā

You've hit nail, as you always do. The middle is important, the most important part and the one that baffles me the most.Ā

Thanks again for your comment, It feels nice to be back on here, even for a short while~

Being Me

You know what? I think it's the darkness that pulls the poetry from our veins. I've yet to come across a poet who does not know (or who has not known) the darkness that despair brings. Keep writing. Life is never a smooth journey. It's up and down for us all. It's not the waves, it's how we ride them that counts. Stay strong, Max and all the best x
