Linedancing again ?

Linedancing again ?

My friend fancied a linedancing class
She didn’t feel like going alone
So after I hummed & hawed
I joined her with a bit moan

Well once upon a time
I was never in my home
Was well-known for gallavanting
Each evening I would roam

But that was many moons ago
Was so young & in my prime
I’d do it all & have a ball
I kept so fit then at that time

Never-the-less we went along
To her desired Line dancing night
Well Crikey moses tho it was familar
I got myself in a right plight

Our teacher stood on a stage
Infront of us
Looking every bit the part
But tho I’d hunted my cowboy boots
I hadn’t a clue where to start

I wouldn’t care but I should have excelled
Dam I even taught this years ago
But my brain was very rusty
So It had forgotten all it did know

“ Right toe strut, left toe strut
Shuffle right 1,2,3
Monteray turn with your right foot
You should all now be facing me”

Huh I heard her loud & clear
Alas my head was in a spin
Twas only me facing wrong wall I fear
As my face went red within

“Haway Jill man” my pal called out
As she seen me looking bemused
“Shut up” I spluttered to her
Feeling bedraggled & confused

So I’ve decided no more linedancing for me
My mate will have to go herself
I’m not being the but of everyones jokes
Standing like a pillock on a shelf
