LISTEN

Listen as the winds whisper through the trees
Delivering a message we cannot hear
Because we listen with closed ears
Our minds closed to what could be
Or maybe the message was only meant for the tree? Â
Listen as the stream ripples through the rocks
Listen to the croak of a nearby frog
Watching as the stream begins it’s long journey
Into  the river
Then into the sea
Finally an ocean
As wide as the eye can see
Listen as the raindrops
Bounce about your feet
Playing a melodic rhythm Â
Set to constant repeat
But still it falls from the sky
Falls in its billions
And renews the earth
Making the soil turn
To fresh green turf
Listen as the bee goes about his day
Pollenating flowers
Is just part of his way
He returns the favour
Makes the pollen into honey
Which we gather
Put into jars
And sell for lots of money
Listen as your dog greets you with a bark
He’s happy to see you
And wants you to take him a walk in the park
Chase a stick or ball that you throw
He just wants to play and let you know
 he missed his owner today
and it’s time for his dinner
Listen as your wife says
“Please put down the toilet seat”
Something that she has to ask
Set to constant repeat
But do us fellows listen
No, I don’t think so
Cause when we go
We have to go
Us men just let it flow
This is a polite ask, if you have took the tome to read this poem please be kind and leave a review. thanks jeff
