is all you have

whenever is possible

it is easy to understand that

to live we all need

from childhood to old age
perhaps a little

it is important to have
what is necessary
a little air to breathe
a little water to quench your thirst
a few items of clothing
a coat, a pair of shoes
good will and
you will have what you need 
to walk along long roads
enter many doors
to earn a day's wages and
to sit at the table to share
the daily bread
which is enough
to know no hunger
 
with your hands you mould
the day ahead of you and
make something good out of it
something good for you
because what you have
doesn't determine who you are
who you can become
the size of your aspirations or
the greatness of your achievements
with little you can do
wonderful things and
go very far
rich as the richest
count your blessings
be grateful for what you have
enjoy it and use it
to live well, live in peace and
to share your love and happiness
in an abundant way
 
when you have a little more
all options get better
but as you grow older
also grow your needs
your responsibilities and
your worries
fortunately love
satisfactions and the reasons
to be happy also grow
especially when seeing
the little ones grow up better and
with a little more opportunity
because in life
any little bit is good
when you have so much
to live for
