Little girl

Little girl

I woke up in a dream today
In a hard cold sweat
It was about you again
As you would bet

I was laying in the grass
Under a weeping willow tree
Looking deep into your eyes
As you stared back at me

Your soft hand held up
The back of my head
Your other gripping at my chest
Wet with the tears you've shed

I bask in your presenceĀ
And I let out a smile
I haven't been this happy
In a very long while

Although my joy quickly faded
When I noticed the pain in your eyes
When I looked at my self
I truly understood why

My heart in your hand, your grasp kept me in this world
I could feel the sorrow in you
My sweet little girl

I thought you hadn't loved meĀ
Most of my despairing existence
My mind woke up, I learned more about you in this instanceĀ

I finally felt you, though fighting with death
My true love held me in her arms as I took my last breath

Hey LUKE!!.....a VERY compelling narrative piece!!.......from a dream?.......regardless......you definitely have a knack for delivering a thought provoking and powerfully dramatic tale.......beautifully formatted for impact........the images of death passing between the two of you spark amazing feelings and visuals in the minds eye of your reader....could it be this was a daughter (little girl?)...or......a Lover......didn't really matter for me.......the scene itself was powerfully Shakespearean!.........Loved it.....ALL STARS.......well done..........T xo

I like to leave some open to interpitation that way people can step into the shoes of the main characterĀ
