Philophobia

Philophobia

Love, a flame that flickers bright,
A warmth that burns, a soothing light,
Yet some do fear its scorching blaze,
And turn away from its warm embrace.

For love can sear the heart and mind,
A storm that rages unconfined,
It can unravel, it can bind,
And leave one lost, adrift, confined.

To love is to invite the storm,
To face the winds, to brave the norms,
It takes a strength beyond the norm,
And leaves no promise of reform.

So some may cower in the dark,
Afraid to light the smallest spark,
Of love, a fire that can ignite,
A blaze both wondrous and outright.

And yet, despite the fear it brings,
Love is what makes our hearts take wings,
So face the flame, embrace its glow,
And let the currents draw and flow.
