That Little House

A castle of sand or a castle of stone,
Knelt before the altar or sat upon the throne.
Fear not of the unknown,
The whispers in the dark,
Nor the wisps of the wind,
From the coming storm.
Think of that little house in your dreams,
The light of the sun and moon through its windows,
And the rain,
Washing its shingles.
Think of the sky,
Beyond the clouds of grey,
And the meadow all about,
Despite what people say.
Keep this image fresh in your mind,
And so will I your love in my heart.

your poems have a way of drawing you into the scene benjamin great vision ! tina x
I'm glad you liked it. This is actually a poem I wrote for my girlfriend the day before she left to go up north to college some 160 miles away. We went from seeing each other every day to only once a week now. I gave it to her with flowers and made her cry! It is very encouraging to know that my writing style has that drawing-in affect and that the imagery is aesthetic.
