Poem -

Little Owl

Little Owl

Little Owl

Little owl, what is it that we search for?
The forests' whispers are unsure
We stay quiet, but sometimes our hearts' pull and swell
Fainter than the previous yells
When we live life in technicolor
We expect to see things in no other
Why when we sometimes cannot feel at all
Sometimes a little tear does fall?
Little owl, I've been learning my darkness through and through
So it can become my sunlight too
And we have been doing well
Balancing strong on our branches tall
We will carry on trying to use our song
To find our own kingdom where we belong
When feelings to co-operate grow
All the fireflies in the night do glow
Creatures of the night can embrace us with terrors
And with nerves they pluck our feathers
How can we try and use our wings
To gulp down all the joy they bring?
And when the moon begins to weep
We can sing her back to peace
It must get lonely lighting the whole night sky
With no little stars nearby
Little owl, when we stare into the night
We hope that she is safe and alright
