Living a Promiscuous Life

She lies next to this man,
A man that wants to give her the world.
A world she doesn’t need,
Nor desire.
He’s all she could ask for
Everything she could want
If only she wasn’t hiding.
For the man she loves
Is not the one she shares a bed with.
Neither will ever know how she truly feels.
So, she smiles
And lets the times roll on
Only to become numb from all the faking.
All the lies she tells herself
Begin to blur the lines.
Her promiscuous lifestyle has finally taken its toll.
She’s faced with the long love of a fling,
One that she’s wanted more from,
The one she’s wanted to share a future with.
Although she chooses to bury herself,
Falling deeper into a delusion.
A delusion she feels she can control
Where emotions don’t play a part.
Nevertheless, she loses herself in the process
Only to forget what is REAL.
