Abandoned

She was the world in which he desired.
Where he set aside his selfishness.
Allowing him to show emotions beyond character,
But for only her eyes.
Her eyes that saw his sorrow
And the tears he would cry late at night.
She had felt all his suffering
But with time, things changed.
He no longer needed her love,
For his confidence began to rise,  
In return had caught anothers eye.
Captivating that attention was fascinating to him,
Building him more than what he was.
No time was spared before one became several.
All making him push aside the one he once valued,
The one that stood by his side,
Helped him when he was lost.
The one he said he never wanted to hurt,
But now had abandoned.
