Stupid in Love

You think you know
You think you'll never love again.
The amount of pain adored
Built the wall ever so high.
Any feelings sink to an all time low
Never showing the true you.
The rebellious you.
The fire that keeps you alive burning out.
Drowned by the booze and the pills
To numb the pain.
All that pain of humiliation
For caring for someone so selfish.
Someone who thinks they knowÂ
But will never know.
Never know how much I love you
Nor how stupid you make me feel.

No, I don't think I'll never love again, Paige.
I know I won't.
Oh sure, I love my children, my parents, my siblings and definitely my dogs.
But as far as the love one man has for just one "special" woman—no. That's never going to happen again.
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Fool me a third time and you can just label me a fool.
Nicely penned.
Keep up the grrrrrrrreat writing.

Thanks! Love is happiness, love is tricky and sometimes be down right stupid, especially when it causes more pain than joy.Â

Truer words have never been written, Paige.
You're welcome.
