Living for the overtime
You never know how hard it is to kiss goodbye my wife and little girl.
It happens everyday for the rest of my life cause its my price to pay from day I was born to the day I die.
They don’t know how hard it is to see the look in there eyes looking back at mine. Hoping I can make it home in time before the grow up and Then I miss my chance waiting in line.
Trading money for my life when I shouldn't have to make such a compromise.
This picture of modern day slavery.
I was taught by my parents to have bravery.
To stand up for the weak even if I take a beating and give them something they can believe in.
Its my choice and I’ll live my life my way.
Who are others to judge the path that I take.
It should be a shame to lie and tell someone they can be anything. When anything costs more then believing.
But then we all have to go home and try to choke down the truth.
It makes me want to puke.
Someone gag me with a spoon,
its too soon;
why has this been going on since high noon.
But if theres one thing I got to say. Its to live your life like its your last day
