Lizards

Lizards

My wife doesn't like lizards very much at all,
when Attenborough shows them it's instant recoil;
but of course, they're all part of our eco system,
just like small dinosaurs, the more you look at them.

I watched geccos crawling on the verandah wall,
grandad would brush them off, so the dog could eat them whole'
the inspector in 'Death In Paradise,' speaks to a friendly one,
he asks it for advice but for sure there is none.

The komodo dragon will look at you with contempt,
break your leg with a tail swish at the first attempt;
now they say Charles Darwin pinched his evolution theory,
ironically, they could both be wrong it seems to me.

Or there was a big bang and lizards leapt out of the sea,
we can only hope their big cousins don't return from mystery.
