Loneliness Is Such A Sad Affair

When our Cody lost his Nico, it was more than he could bear;
We watched him in his loneliness, “Such A Very Sad Affair”!
We tried to keep him happy, we never left his side;
But his mood swings happened daily, and so often did he cry!
.
For Nico was his Soulmate, we knew from that first day;
Evermore was their love bond, as together did they lay!
They shared their toys and dinners, never did they part;
Like a fine sculpture by Michelangelo, a perfect work of art!

We knew we’d first lose Nico, and after almost twelve great years;
He passed away quite suddenly, the culmination of our fears!
For days our Cody looked for him, thought soon, he’d be back home;
But with time, we knew he realized, he now was all alone!
.
We worried that we’d lose him too, yet through our loving, he lived on;
For almost two and one-half years, but now, he too is gone!
Twenty-two weeks ago today, he joined his precious Bro;
Our “Loneliness Is Such A Sad Affair”, without Cody, and dear Nico!

                                Our lonely Souls sob
                          For their two Beloved mates
                                 With tears eternal
