Poem -

Lonely

It creeps in as the sun sets,

Like a shadow that stretches.

The house becomes dark and loneliness makes its way in.

Sitting there, pondering,

I wonder,

I wonder what to do,

What to do in this silent house,

Where loneliness has become my friend.

I glance over at an empty chair.

The house is old, dusty, and unused.

No one ever visits.

No one ever drops by.

What to do, what to do.

What will shut out the loneliness?

What will take away the loneliness?

The loneliness that has become my friend.
