Lonesome Halves

Just the one can never make a pair
A match ain’t ever a solitary affair.
Forgotten, left behind, misplaced
No efforts spared or just untraced.
Waylaid, resented or suffered a fall
Torn, poked, unraveled; maybe all.
A misfit, loner, ignored; off of a set
A dainty wanderer, frail, imperfect.
Mismatches, never a piece of cake
Still, it takes two for a handshake.
They literally were, hand in glove
Lonesome halves together in love.

An attempt at a sensi(silly)ble rhyme. :P
Wrote this for a friend who wished to have
something written about the word 'Gloves'.

Shukriya Linda!
This sensi(silly)ble rhyme of yours could become a tidy little sub-genre.
As the founder member of the club, this poem would be a tough act to follow. It's simple, elegant and beautifully thought out.
Sad, insightful and rather charming.
J ;)
You're the best to give a boost to anyone who's been feeling rather low! Shukriya so much for your generous encouragement and praise Jason! :-)
