Looking on the Brightside

Today I give myself permission

To just look on the bright side

 Finding dreams to guide my path

 And thoughts to lift me

Seeking out words that comfort  

 Singing songs to benefit my malady  

 Reeling in the gift of faith

In dark troubled waters

 Hope shows me where I`m going

 I’m persuaded to not lie down; but try

 And do a little better next time

Things that cut and sting

 I won’t let them cling,

 Though fear and gloom may beckon me

 I’ll make it a habit

To avoid their dark company

And as far as that cold, hearted donkey;

 Negativity

 I’ll look to see beyond its condescending tone  

Yes!

Today it’s official, I give myself permission

To just look on the bright side again
