Looking Glass

*Jill's Tweedledee Tweedledum Challenge*

Looking Glass

So idyllic, so virginal clean,
Glide Tweedledee pristine.
Survive queen of heart's palace
Obliviously exist life of Alice.

Proper adjectives obstruct throat,
Navigate life, a sacrificial goat.
Forbid misery to rain on tea party
White rabbit scolds when tad tardy

Craving acceptance as we all do,
Mask what eats through.
Pointed finger at cast reflection,
Self-impose biased rejection.

Aspersions won't hide naked truth,
NaΓ―vetΓ© lost amidst early youth.
Tweedledum confident pride,
It won’t disguise ugliness inside.

Paint Cheshire smile on vague face,
Mania looks refined smirk in place.
Perilously plot life's foggy mirror,
No guarantees, it gets damned clearer

My Dear Lisa,

You take me to places that few poets can.

Through "The Looking Glass" I peered
Read your poem most revered
'bout Tweedledee and Tweedledum
The epitome of a writer's sum

All my love,
Larry xxx
