Loss

Loss

As I feel you recede, like I knew that you would
I do not feel completion or anything good
I just feel loss.

In the back of my mind I had known all along
That in order to help you live happy and long
I would have to let go.

Knowing soon you will turn to the heart of another
As I hang on in stasis and maybe recover
'Cause you are my soundboard, my twin and my lover
And I have no right to feel jealous, or smother
Your life with a blanket of fleeting false hope,
I'm already taken, a rat on a rope.

One day we might even forget what it was
That magical force that has dignified us
Without our protection I fear it might pass
From garden of eden to paradise lost.
Sorry my love

True, without hope there is no point... main thing is to make decisions for yourself, not for other people, no matter how much they mean to you, you can only control yourself.
