Poem -

Loss

Grief lies heavy
like the blizzard draped
over the arms and fingers
of the grey-brown,
mist-shrouded trees;
the pale winter sun comes
to peel away the snowy gown,
but though time numbs
the pain and sadness
and the harrowing sorrow fades,
life’s summer will not return
and an aching longing forever lingers.
