Lost

I'm lost in a dark place,
Only I can be my guide.
I might just stay in this space,
With no fight left inside.

Why is everything so negative? 
Where can purpose be found?
Like a  mind numbing sedative 
I feel worthless on the ground.

I question where I stand,
Or do people simply lie?
This existence is so bland,
So why do I even try?

Isn't it frightening, this space?
When the silence is loud.
Forever in a wary embrace,
Of every dark cloud.

Will I ever feel secure?
Or is life full of deceit?
I guess I won't know for sure,
While my heart still beats.
